TYPOS
For those who have not read my blog I just want to remind people when I get on a topic of ranting My mind goes faster then my fingers and I try to keep up so probably a few or 100 typos so just look past them if you can....
The nation of ME and NOW
OK...whats new in the world? The economy has gone to shit, gas prices are out of control and America still can't decide whether we are in a recesion or not ..seem strange and since my last blog we still haven't picked our candidates for president and now we are debating wheteher there is a food shortage on grains. Nope this is typical America..We are a nation of hiders. We don't run and hide per se, but what we do is ignore what will hurt us until it is too late. I have taken a class in History this semester and I am amazed as a nation how many times the obvious was in front of us but as it played out we were shocked. Now I am not screaming to be a scholar in History so don't get so bent out of shape because I took one class but please keep in mind my major is Education in History, so lots of class hours and reading involved. We are a nation of ME and Now ...How does it effect me and since I don't feel it now who cares. Then one day we wake up and suddenly gas prices are extrememly high not just because it happened but because we didn't care enough earlier to change our own habits... Me, well I march to a different drummer, In Feb I paid off everything I could afford to pay off and dug myself out of debt. Why? Well lets see housing markets took a hit, banks took a hit, construction companies are taking hits and as the banking slows; trust me on this ....when the banks go down the economy goes down....the world follows money ....in everything....so I saw the trends early this year and figured better safe then sorry...so I am sitting here still feeling the pinch of gas prices and the rise in food cost but nothing like I would have been feeling had I not followed my gut...YEAH go me .....so back to our nation....wow how long do you think it will take for Americans to see we do it to ourselves. We want the best the most expensive and without thought to what the long term effcts are. Me I am sinple ..live within my means, shop with coupons on a fanatic basis(even at close out stores and dollar stores) and try to maintain my own.. should I lose my job tomorrow I will be ok not longterm but short term I have time to make changes. How many others can say that right now? I am waiting to see what the next big fall out in our nation is and how long it will take people to actually start watching and changing their lives.....142 billion gallons of gas a year..even at 3.59 a gallon (here in Northern KY) that translates into alot of money..Now I am not a Earth hugger so I am not getting self righteous I am just thinking should we ever get the shaft from other nations on the oil issue (not like right now we aren't getting shafted enough) BUT what if they stopped producing and selling us oil ? Our dollar is so low right now it is almost worthless due to our nations debt.....What would our nation due? and would it take the people lined up at the pumps being told we are being rationed to finally see what we do to ourselves as a nation. Makes you wonder sometimes doesn't it...what are the chances that we are creating our own failure because we are complacent.
